Miss Raghunandan's Fourth Grade

Week of May 18, 2019

---------------------- Extra help will be on Monday this week. -------------------- OUR QUAIL EGGS HAVE STARTED HATCHING!
Our fourth grade class is responsible for this year's quail project. We have 12 bobwhite quail eggs in an incubator in our classroom. We have been learning about bobwhite quails: their habitat, life cycle, and survival instincts in the wild. We have also been discussing conservation and human impact on these small birds. This is a great project to help the children learn more about biology and conservation. ... If you would like to see the baby quails remotely, go to Youtube.com and type in "SPS Quail Cam" or cut and paste in the online link
... The baby quails will remain in our classroom for a few weeks as they mature, and will be released in the wild at the Seatuck Environmental Association.
... A notice will be sent home notifying families of the date and time so that you can join us for the release of the quails. ----------------------- Homework this week: Social Studies - project (refer to handout) due 5/24; test on 5/24 ... Math - test Tuesday --------------------- Field Day is on May 28th. Families are welcome to attend. ... Notices have been sent home regarding the Field Day lunch orders.
