Look What We Are Learning This Week!

Week of February 11

Our letter of the week is: R.  We will practice writing and identifying the letter, as well as the sound it makes and things that start with that letter.

ELA:  We will continue our Habitats unit.

Math:  We will begin exploring measurement and weight.

Religion:  "Valentine's Day"  We will also talk about the rosary.  We will continue our Saints of the Month for February.

Science: We will continue talking about the Winter season.

History: We will learn about President's Day.

Reading Groups: - Letter review A-Z (upper and lower case)

Every day we will continue to practice our names (first and last) and tracing/writing letters and numbers.  We will also practice our coloring, cutting and pasting skills.  Continue to reinforce these skills at home!

As part of our STEM curriculum, we encourage the children to create various structures using hands on materials during centers and playtime.  Examples include: building a new house for the 3 little pigs that the wolf cannot blow down,  building a tall tower that is stable and won't fall down, etc.


- 100th day hearts were due by Friday, February 8.  If you did not send them in, please return ASAP.

- On Wednesday, we will celebrate our 100th day of school!  Please remember to wear your 100th day shirts that you created at home!  We can't wait to see them!

- On Thursday, we will celebrate Valentine's Day in class.  Please send your child to school with a pink/red snack.  Children may also bring Valentine's on this day!  (For the whole class, with no names on them please)

- School closed next week for break!
